General
Bangkok, in Thai called Krung Thep, is the capital city and the biggest urban area in Thailand. It is one of the world’s busiest travel hubs, a major business location, and the gate to Asia for many international operating companies. But Bangkok is also a fascinating City and a great place to live, because here you will find some of the best hotels, restaurants and bars, shopping places, a wide range of entertainment, and a very interesting night life.
Sukhumvit area
The Sukhumvit area, which stretches over 15-20 km, is actually the city center. It is a vibrant mix of residential and commercial properties, and the place to be, and that’s why it offers some of the most expensive properties in Bangkok. In this area you will find prestigious shopping center, five star hotels and a wide range of condo buildings.
Silom-Sathon and Asok district
This district has been Bangkok's business center for decades. It is one of the districts, which has experienced one of the highest growth rates and underwent an economic transformation. The most important businesses and offices today are settled in the Asok area.
China Town
This historic area is as old as Bangkok itself. Still an important trading place, packed with market stalls, street-side restaurants, Chinese medicine stores and probably the greatest concentration of gold shops in the city. For business people, it is mostly a bit too far from the important Sukhumvit area, but especially for travelers and shoppers, Chinatown is an experience not to miss.
Infrastructure
Infrastructure in Bangkok in general is on a very high level, but traffic is the most important key factor for people in Bangkok in choosing their locations. Only a quick access to one of Bangkok’s transportation networks will give you a chance to successfully manage your daily business. There are already 19 different transportation networks in Bangkok, but the BTS train system is by far the best. During rush hours cars and taxis are useless and motorbikes are quite dangerous.
Projects/development
Based on the actual traffic situation, only projects which are close to a BTS station are selling well. Prestigious projects especially with well-known international brands are the best sellers. The Bangkok property market today is too active to give any long term recommendations. Trend
The constant boom for condominiums is based on the fast growing amount of Thai buyers who can effort to pay a couple of millions for a condo as an investment. Strong demand from foreign investors, mainly from Hong Kong and Shanghai are supporting the boom, but only quality properties in good locations are a save investment.
