About Cha Am

Sunset In Cha Am
Sunset In Cha Am

South of the Phetchaburi province along the western seaboard is the beach town Cha Am. Once a low-key fishing and market village, Cha Am has grown in popularity, particularly with local Thais who yearn for a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Cha-am is mainly know for its fresh seafood, and eating and drinking in a relaxing seaside environment is the main draw for the locals. The local fare can be enjoyed at both open-air eateries with umbrella-shaded tables out on the beach, and more traditional restaurants near the north end of the beach or cantilevered out over the water on stilts at the edge of the harbor.

The beaches are quite nice, and offer a great place to relax and enjoy a weekend swim. Different to Hua Hin, Cha Am has build a beach road along the sea, which makes the beach an important meeting spot. There are a variety of water sports, wandering vendors selling silk and cotton fabric, scarves and hand-carved wooden statues, in addition to horses for hire.

Cha Am is still not as developed as Hua Hin, but the town has great potential. Land prices are on an affordable level and therefore offer a great investment opportunity not only for developers but also for private investors.
