About Koh Samui

Koh Samui's Beachfront
Koh Samui's Beachfront

Koh Samui in general
Koh Samui is the third largest island , and is located in the southern part of Thailand in the Surat Thani province. The Island is famous for its long, sandy white beaches, clean crystalline water, and tranquil atmospheres with coconut palms drag one’s sensation to full relaxation.

The Region of Surat Thani
Surat Thani (often in short Surat) is the largest of the southern provinces of Thailand, on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, Phang Nga and Ranong. Geographically the center of the province is the coastal plain, which is mostly grassland interchanged with rubber trees and coconut plantings. In the west are the limestone mountains of the Phuket range mostly covered with forests.

The Island Samui
Koh Samui is surrounded by about sixty other islands, which compose the Ang Thong Marine National Park (Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park) and include other tourist destinations like Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan. The central part of the island is an almost uninhabitable mountain jungle, Khao Pom peaking at 635 m. The various lowland areas are connected together by a single 51km road, running mostly along the coast to encircle the bulk of the island.

Koh Samui Infrastructure
Its infrastructure is very well established with international hotels, international schools and many high standard restaurants and bars. Koh Samui's airport makes it easy for tourists to reach the Island in no time. Even though the beaches around the Island are well developed, the middle of the Island is still a tropical jungle, waiting to be explored.

Koh Samui Projects and developments
Over the last 20 years, Koh Samui has developed into a very popular holiday destination. The projects on the Island have gained more quality and more luxury and are now following the example of Phuket's developments.

The trend of Koh Samui
The Luxury market on Samui will continue to expand and diversify, but larger properties autonomous, are increasingly sharing space with apartment buildings and smaller houses. The dramatic rise in land prices means that developers are now trying to make the most of every single country meters of space. Some still manage to be intelligent, thoughtful design, offer privacy and a sense of openness to the tropical location is suitable.
